Beeps and Beeping
Sadie is now in the Sunbeams class at church. She can't say Sunbeams. She calls it "Sunbeeps." Soooo cute. And when she's out of breath, she says, "Mama, my heart is beeping." She also uses the "heart beeping" thing as an excuse for why she can't eat her dinner. "Mama, I tan't eat my dinnah. My haht is beeping soooo bad." She's so full of it!
I Warned Them...
We had an unusually warm early March. So warm that the kids could actually play outside and get a little pink:
So warm that my daffodils, tulips, and crocuses started popping out:
Oh, and my irises started popping out, too, but I somehow forgot to take a picture of them.
"Oh, you guys," I said,"This is not a good idea. You're going to really regret exposing yourselves this early. You should really go back underground." But they didn't listen. In fact, my crocuses defied my suggestion outright, blooming beautifully:
"Oh, crocuses, not a good plan," I said. "I hope you don't die. Don't you remember what Idaho springs are like?" They didn't remember. Until they were pelted with hail:
Which smooshed most of them:
And the ones that didn't get smooshed hadn't escaped decimation. We got six inches of snow about a week and a half ago:
That picture was taken just as the snow had begun. I should have taken a picture of the completely-covered-in-snow crocuses. It wasn't pretty.
Needless to say, the blooms have all died. But somehow, the little green parts seem to be doing okay. And the green parts of the tulips, irises, and daffodils are holding strong. Hopefully that huge snowstorm was the last one of the spring. But you never know. It did, after all, blizzard on my high school graduation day. In June.

Freaky Deaky
We haven't had Nickelodeon in about a year and a half, but when we had it, there was a show on Nick Junior in the mornings called Yo Gabba Gabba. It's a REALLY weird show. Here's the show's intro:
Freaky deaky. Seriously.
Anyways, about a month ago, Micah grew out of his 6-12 month clothes, so I got out the box with the 12-18 month boy clothes in it, and I noticed that they were all summer clothes. Since it has been snowing as recently as last week, and I knew that's how it would be, I decided to get him a couple of warmer shirts and pants to last until it gets warm again. So... until June or so. :)
So I went to Wal-Mart, and they had these t-shirts on clearance for $2 each:
And even though Yo Gabba Gabba is a freaky deaky show, I bought them. Because they were soooo cheap.

Weird!
Sadie's My Little Ponies have magnetic hooves, apparently:
Our back door is metal, and somehow Sadie and Dylan figured out that her My Little Ponies could magically stick to it. Why would a toy manufacturer put magnets inside the hooves of My Little Ponies??
Oh. And a little side note. Ben went to his scheduled interview with this other architect in town, and when he arrived at the office, the doors were locked. Ben called the dude, and the dude said that his car had broken down in Tremonton, and that he couldn't call Ben because he had written Ben's number on a piece of paper that was inside his locked office. So Ben is supposed to interview with him sometime next week, supposedly. We'll see.

Whaaaa????
That is a good "whaaaa?", not a bad "whaaaa?". So yesterday, Ben got a call from a local architect to whom he had given his resume back in January. The architect said that he is interested in interviewing Ben for a part-time position. Ben told this architect that he already accepted a full-time position with another firm, but that he would be greatly interested in doing part-time, nighttime work for this guy. The guy said that would be great, and he's interviewing Ben on Thursday.
Can you imagine what will happen if this works out? I won't have to work at all!!! I could be home with my babies!
But I mustn't get myself too excited. We shall see what happens.
One of my friends, Amy's, husband was unemployed for a couple of months early this year, as well, and during that trial, she mentioned the Lord's tender mercies that she could feel and see during this difficult time. When I read that, I bitterly thought, about my own similar trial, "I see no tender mercies. All I see is despair and hopelessness." I couldn't see, during my trial, the same thing that Amy could see. But as the weeks of unemployment dragged on and on, I started to really count my blessings. Especially when I saw all of the people at the psychiatrist's office where I work and what horrible things they are going through. I have definitely seen His tender mercies in my life. I have a loving and kind husband. I have beautiful, healthy children. The church has helped us with groceries and some bills. What could have been so much more horrific ended up just being mainly unpleasant. I have been clinging to the scriptures and to prayer, and I feel that I have grown closer to Him. Not only did he help me get through this trial, but now he is showering us with so many blessings. I could not be more grateful. I just keep saying to Him, all day, in my mind, "Thank you so much. Thank you."
I'll let you know what happens. The interview is tomorrow.
