We are loooooosers!! My sister's family and my parents got invited to parties, but we didn't, and we felt too shy to throw one ourselves - we don't know anyone that well yet. Plus, when you have a party, then you have to clean your house! We just weren't up for it. So we ate out at a Mongolian barbecue place and rented a couple of movies. Here are Ben and the kids, watching Arthur and the Invisibles:
While they were doing that, I did some cleaning and some mending:
Ben's boss had given us some sparkling apple cider as a New Year's Eve gift, so Ben gave a "toast." The kids love clinking glasses and saying, "Cheers!" It was cute.
we're losers, too. we had sparkling cider and put the kids to bed at the normal time. then, john played computer games while i watched "thoroughly modern millie" and put christmas decorations away. at first, i was thinking how much i'd changed, that i was totally ok w/ our non-plans; but by the time we went to be (around 11) i was thinking, what a lame night! oh well. :)
ReplyDeleteAw, that's so cute. Did the kids make it to midnight?? We totally didn't. so we were bigger losers than you!
ReplyDeleteAt least you guys know that you were the life of the party! Elisa and I were in the opposite situation--we spent New Year's with 15 families, 30 small kids, lots of fireworks, lots of noise, etc. Elisa and I escaped to the serenity of the kitchen to be alone for half the night. :)
