Micah's First Solids!

I asked Dylan to be my photographer for this special moment, and he actually did a pretty good job!

Look how cute Micah is - always smiling:

Since it was my first time mixing baby cereal in a few years, I forgot that a little bit of dry cereal, when you add water to make it the right consistency, goes a loooong way. So I accidentally made, like, half a cup of cereal. But I thought, well, there is no way he'll want that much. I'll just feed him until he acts uninterested. Dude, the kid finished the whole dang thing!!

And then he was constipated for a couple of days. So now I only give him two tablespoons of mixed cereal per day, and he's good. :)

And sorry for my haggard appearance in the above pictures. I don't always get a chance to do hair and makeup. In fact, I hardly ever do! I'm lucky if I get my jogging and shower in each day. The rest of the day, I am a slave to my children and husband. Sigh. I really should get up at five a.m. to get my jogging and shower in. Or not. :)

Anyways, Micah LOVES cereal - more than either of my other kids. And he eats better and less messily than they did when they were first starting out, too. And I can tell Micah loves it, because he kicks his feet so fast that they're almost blurry. He's always kicking when he's excited. Sadie used to swirl her hands and feet in circles when she was excited. It was so dang funny.

  1. YAY! That's awesome that he loves it so much. Ivy's not to keen on rice cereal just yet.

  4. That's great! I wish my kids would have been that easy to feed solids to. Great job on your race too! That's awesome!

  5. Woo hoo! I love the cereal days! Sometimes when my kids would get constipated I would add a little bit of apple juice with the water and that would fix them right up. How is Micah doing with the bottle now?

  6. How exciting!
I always mixed a little fruit in with my babies cereal, and they didn't get Consto...
Dylan did a fantastic job with taking pictures!

  7. Ah, he is such a cute little guy. I love that big smile. I think it's one of the best things ever when a child eats his food--all gone--no struggles. Drew needs major distractions these days. Doing the song and dance every meal is...fun? I totally feel you on the no shower, please bless I get my exercising in, I'm a slave to my family tip. Sigh. Here's to getting dressed up for an awesome GNO at an expensive delicious restaurant. Lol!
