I found this on my table in the dining room one day:
The nutcracker, pointing menacingly at the poor baby Jesus. I laughed. The kids play with my Christmas decorations more than they play with their toys. Dyls:
Micah added a My Little Pony decoration to our tree (I believe her name is Toola Roola):
Don't you love that?! Why do we buy them toys? I love Micah's decoration on the tree:)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED playing with the nativity figures and the Christmas train and everything else. And my nieces LOVE playing with my moms pots and pans and tin cans and wooden spoons and everything else that isn't a toy. Maybe it is the forbidden fruit thing... or maybe actual toys really are a waste. But what ever keeps 'em happy, right?
ReplyDeleteBrock put random toys on our tree the whole time, too! But they were really big toys. Must be the age. And my kids play with that one nativity set that I've leant to the display thingy. We used to play with those bean bag Santas growing up.
ReplyDeleteSo, I just left a bunch of comments. YAY! Sorry I've been such a commenter slacker lately... Not that my comments are brilliant, but still. Just...FYI.
ReplyDeleteBefore we decorated the tree when all the ornaments were out we would play "Christmas Town." All the ornaments come to life and it's like Barbies- but with Christmas ornaments.
ReplyDeleteAlso - my dad used to sing "O Holy Night" and when the part at the end comes "faaaallll on your kneees" he would sing it really loud and come over and hit that pressure point on our shoudlers... making us, literally, fall to our knees. We thought he was so funny!
