I spent a LOT of my childhood entering contests and not winning them. I entered every single grocery store coloring contest, but I never won one! I always hoped to win the big teddy bear at the dentist's office, but never did. I always hoped my name would get drawn out of the jar for volunteers for Sharing Time in Primary, but it never happened. I always hoped to be the one in class that won the Warm Fuzzy Pet to wear on my shoulder, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
But this little Dylan of mine wins soooooo much stuff. When he was in preschool, I took him to the dentist that I had grown up going to, and guess what? He won that big stuffed teddy bear. When he was in kindergarten, he entered a city-wide poster contest about bullying. When he turned his paper in, he said, "I KNOW I'm going to win, Mom." He was so confident. I told him that there were so many kids entering, that his chances were pretty narrow, but he just knew it would happen. And he won in the Kindergarten division for the whole city. He just won 2nd place in a city-wide coloring contest a couple of weeks ago, and now look what he got in the mail:
He won a Garcia's coloring contest! Can I tell you how many times I drew and colored a picture there at Garcia's, but mine was never picked to be displayed on their bulletin board? The kid kills me. I should have him pick lotto numbers for me. If I gambled. :)
He's a lucky kid definitely. I don't win stuff either!! Good for Dylan!:)
ReplyDeleteYay Dylan! Very exciting. Whenever I was confident that I would win, I ended up winning. That is the trick I guess :)
