Lost in Translation

Okay, so Apes tagged me with this. It's an award. It came with a paragraph that explains it SO SUCCINCTLY:

"This blog invests and believes, the proximity. [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy]. They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text."

I seriously cannot stop laughing when I read that paragraph. What the crap??? What in the heck is that paragraph supposed to mean? Hahaha!! I'm guessing that someone, several several several posts and bloggers ago, tried to translate from Spanish to English and did a pretty horrible job.

Nat wrote this on her blog about this bizarre paragraph:

The translation of the translation:I'm cool, April's cool, April thinks I'm cool, I think April's cool. And you, dear reader, are cool because of the coolness I exude that April spread to me from her coolness. Can you feel the love?

My translation: I think the person was trying to say that this award goes to eight people who, with their blog, make me feel like I'm with them, experiencing their lives. Like a fly on the wall. Or a little gnome on their shoulder. So here are my nominees (and I'm nominating different people than I did for that other blog award thing I did awhile ago):

Suzy: I love her descriptions of her life in college. When she describes trying to secretly write her book while in class, while a nosy classmate is trying to look over her shoulder, I smile. When she talks about an awkward DTR she had with a dude, I laughed. Ah, fun college moments. And I love how excited she gets about writing. She loves her characters and relishes writing about them.

April: I love her interactions with Goober. Their conversations make me laugh so hard. My interactions with Dylan, who is the same age as Goober, are eerily similar. I love April's well-thought-out opinions. I love that she kicks my butt and makes me more politically-minded. And I love that her posts are a little snapshot of her daily life.

Megann: Megann is soooo on top of her posts. Mine are always about a month late. I swear that she posts five minutes after an event happens!! And her daughters are so hilarious. And I love that Megann swears like I accidentally do (I'm really trying to kick the habit). One of her recent posts was titled "Hell, No!" And I'm excited that she just posted a pic of me and Ben on her blog. I feel like a celebrity!!

Patty: I love it when Patty posts. I love reading about her dog - he is so loveable and so huge!! And I love that she baby-sat my kids, and actually liked baby-sitting them, and then took pictures of them during her baby-sitting adventure and posted them on her blog! What a good baby-sitter she is!! Holy cow! When I baby-sit, I'm like, "Uh, go in the living room and play with my kids." I love the old-school picture she put up on her blog from college with her in a sweet wedding veil and ski bib overalls with a belt and moon boots. She is a spaz, and I love it!

Lynita: Nitz keeps it real. She posts during really happy, funny moments, and really hard moments. I love that she isn't one of those fake bloggers: "My life is perfect! I'm perfect! I'm always happy!" Puh-leaze. She posts about how miserable she is in her last month of a difficult pregnancy. But she also posts about how funny her son is, and how he basically wiggled his butt at a bunch of firefighters at a fire engine parade. It's like mooning, but without taking down his pants. She is frustrated with her kids sometimes, and sometimes she thinks they are the sweetest, funniest things. This is exactly how I feel about my own kidlets. Thanks for keeping it real, Nitzey.

Emily: Emily has fantastic and eclectic taste in music, and she's always posting videos from her favorite songs. I love that. I like listening to new things. And she is a total Twilight-aholic, like me. She puts all kinds of great pictures and Widgets from Twilight on her blog. (And she hooks me up with sweet Twilight flair from Facebook.) And Em has the driest sense of humor. I love how she says things. Like her dog: "Penny is really cute, and most days, that's all she has going for her."

Autumn: I really, really miss Autumn (she lives in So Cal. I used to be her visiting teacher). I love her blog because her kids do the funniest, sweetest things. Her son runs around in his undies all day. Just loves to be in his undies, nothing else. And her kids get along really well and are always helping each other out. Her daughter, Emileigh, got something out of Koen's eye the other day! Koen asked her to do it, and completely trusted that she would get it out, and she did!! And I love that Autumn catches those moments with her kids. She's always sneaking up on them with the camera and taking them by surprise. So cute. And she loves Twilight, too. And has fabulous taste in books.

Mindi: Mindi is the busiest person I know, bar none, yet she finds time to blog. And her blog totally inspires me to be more social! She and her husband are party animals. Seriously. They are good friends and always putting together parties and get-togethers. And she is really active with her kids. She's always taking them to fairs and parades and museums, on hikes... she is a teacher as a profession, yet she still finds time to teach her kids at home, too. Every time I read her blog, I'm like, dang! I should get out a board game and play with my kids!! She's inspiring. And very cute. And there are always random, crazy wild animals hanging out in her backyard. And helicopters. :)

Whew. That took me forever! So hooray for the winners of this really cryptic blog award.

Yeah, I was a little baffled by the translation, too. I've gotten a little tagged out, which is why I didn't tag anyone.

Okay coming from someone who translates for people all the time, I have one thing to say, "We are all now stupider for having read that translation!" Remember in Billy Madison when he tries to explain something using the puppy story? Yeah it's like that! LOL! Thanks for the nomination. Ryan just got on me about posting several negative blogs about my pregnancy, like 2 in the last 6 weeks, so it is good that someone appreciates my honesty! I told him that I could seriously post something negative each day or week, but I don't so he should just chill. He thinks that blogs should be PC or something... Whatever!

I am honored! I feel like I have a lot to live up to now! I too love reading your blog. I agree with your translation of the "paragraph". These blogs help me to stay updated with my friends and family that I NEVER see. Somehow that makes me feel closer to everyone, even though we are miles away!

Thanks for the nomination. I'm glad I make you feel like a celebrity. I seriously think it's awesome that you comment on every single one of my posts. I look forward to your comments.

I'm glad you translated that...whatever it was. I was so confused!
