Simile Man
Dylan is in the very cute habit of using similes to express how he is feeling. If he's cold, he doesn't say, "I'm cold." He says, "Mommy, I feel like an ice cube." If he feels hot, he doesn't say, "I'm hot." He says, "Mommy, I feel like lava." It's always lava with him. Not an oven, or the desert. Lava. It's definitely his most-used simile. Something that made my heart break for him was when, a couple of weeks ago, he cut his head open on the corner of his dresser when he was quickly reaching for a toy and not paying attention to where his head was going. Huge crocodile tears pouring down his cheeks, he wailed, "That felt like a hammer." Awwwwww.... poor kid.

So cute! I love the way Dylan is so creative and expressive with his thoughts and emotions. Reading about him makes me smile and sometimes crack up. Thanks for sharing!
Hmm, is he going to be like his mommy and be an English buff? :) So cute!
P.S. Memo will be "done" in a few weeks. I found out I need a pet carrier and nail clippers, and probably a scratching post. Yikes! Bikes!
That is really cute. When I hit my head on the cupboard in the laundry room (it happens at least once a week..ya think I would remember to shut the thing). Anyway, I think I may take his phrase...It is a lot better and I can actually keep my pennies. (the kids and Shawn made a "bad word" jar. :)
My kids are 19+ and they walk around yelling their hands are saws and that the floor is lava...still not real sure where that came from...
I love it when little people find such great ways to tell what they are thinking.
I think I use similes a lot more than I realize. Thinking about it, I compare EVERYTHING to something else when trying to explain how i feel....crazy! that's cute that he does that, though
