Texas

"Texas" is one of my nicknames for Lexi. Lexi is the youngest of us girls.

Lex is very compassionate toward animals. She decided she was going to be a vegetarian when she was in high school, and she has been busily trying to convert the rest of us to her ways. She's always trying to get me to watch these horrible videos about how cows are killed, or the inhumane way in which chickens are penned up, and I run away. I just don't want to know. She only eats "free range" eggs, which are eggs from chickens who have been allowed to be free, instead of in a cramped pen. I don't buy them; not because I don't care, because I do, but dang, those eggs are REALLY expensive. Lex bought some moccasins last summer, but only after being reassured that the animals that the moccasins had been made from were animals in Yellowstone Park that had died of natural causes. (I wonder if that guy was telling her a story to make a sale...)

Lexi is a music afficionado. She really loves bands that not many people have discovered yet. She has to have music on, no matter what she's doing or where she is. We were playing games a couple of nights ago, and she was going nuts without any music on, so she found a weird Beatles CD, of covers that they did before they hit it big. (I don't like the cover music as well as their own stuff.) Lex and Mom fight over music in the car a lot. Mom likes silence; Lex likes her music LOUD. They went skiing at Sun Valley today; I wonder how the car music fight went...

Lexi is a cheerleader in every sense of the word. She's a cheerleader in real life (she even cheered for two years in college), but she is also a cheerleader to her friends and family. She goes to every event she can to support people. She took us all to a play that her friend from St. George was in. She went to a kickboxing match that another friend was in. She's very, very supportive. She is also an excellent workout buddy. She always knows the exact thing to say to make me run that extra five minutes or that extra hundred yards. She'll bring up past boyfriends of mine to fire me up and make me angry, which helps me to run. Or she'll spew all of these factoids about running: "Feel your stomach right now. Does it feel cold? Good! That means that your stomach is burning fat right now."

Lexi is going to be a physical therapist, so her cheering skills will be well-used, as will her knowledge of the human body. She loves science, like Beads does. She dragged her friends to this museum exhibit in Vegas called "Bodies." It was dead bodies, preserved in a solid form, and posed, doing stuff like throwing a football or yoga. Her friends were disgusted, but she was so excited. Like a kid in a candy shop. They had, like, cross-sections of bodies and stuff, and she was enthralled. I would have probably vomited. But to her, it was science, and it was exciting. She works really hard in school and gets amazing grades.

Lex is really witty. I think she is hands-down the funniest of all the sisters, and we're all pretty gregarious. She tells the funniest jokes ever, and then she laughs for like five minutes. She has a very infectious, kooky laugh. One day, she flexed both of her biceps and said, "Say hello to Mary-Kate and Ashley." And then she kissed them. She says funny, crazy stuff like that all the time.

Lex is an internet junky. She has all of these random YouTube videos she always wants to show me, and they are hilarious. She is the star of a few YouTube videos herself. She discovered Flight of the Concords, which is Pete's all-time favorite thing now, after WoW, of course. She also discovered one of my favorite guilty pleasures, postsecret.com. It's addictive!!

Lex loves pirates. A lot. She threw a party for National Talk Like a Pirate Day. She gave her roommate a necklace for her birthday, on which was ascribed, "Pirates Forever." And it goes without saying that she loves Johnny Depp.

And I don't know where she finds these, but she celebrates a national holiday, like, every day. She'll call me randomly and be like, "Happy Bald Eagle Appreciation Day!" And she tries to throw parties based on the holiday, all the time. Come to think of it, she just throws parties all the time. She had an Ugly Sweater Party once, and a Red and White party, in which you come dressed as an angel or as a devil. Very cool parties. I love the Lexi-meister!

Why is her nickname "Texas"?:) She sounds like a fun sister. You don't really look like any of them. I guess you most look like Brianna. I should do a post about my sisters. LOL I'm not really close with them though so it'd be kind of a stretch for me.

YAY for Lex! It was fun to hang out with her this last little bit. Hm, we should convince her and BJ to move back home when they're done with college. That is, if we end up staying here...

That is such a neat idea to focus on each sister for a post. All three posts (and sisters) are beautiful. Smarts, looks, personality, and talent must run pretty deep in your family!
