No freaking kidding! I open the door, say "Um, no" right away, and close it and lock it. I think door-to-door and telemarketing should be outlawed.
That is funny. shh! I used to work as a telemarketer for a health club, It was only for about 2 mos. and I was older than my boss, I was in HS. So I butted heads with him one to many times and quit...I made a lot on commission and was proposed to 3 times. I have more crazy stories from that job...
Amen! I think we get asked to get the newspaper three times a week. And the sad sob story of trying to get money for college by selling magazine subscriptions- sheesh! Ever hear of loans? I'm still paying for my college!
I had one come to my house last week and asked me if I was the mother of the house. Are you kidding?? I'm nine months pregnant! Then he said some line about how he wasn't expecting a super model to answer the door. Are you kidding?? I'm nine months pregnant! I never even let him tell me what he was selling. He was to full of crap!
Sweet sign, way to make the salesmen laugh and the girl scouts cry! Those poor JW's, although I bet they leave a Watchtower on your doorstep. That's cool we all need something to light a fire with when winter comes around!

There was a big news story last Saturday about someone who posted a sign like that, and the still got door knockers. I guess that the city has to have an ordinace saying that if you have a sign posted it is against the law. If the city has no rule, the salesman has free rein on anyone, anywhere.
