Big Helpers

My kids love to help me cook. I let them help me, because I know it's important for them to learn how to do it, and because I like to spend time with them. Inwardly, I cringe when they flute the pie crust wrong or don't stir things thoroughly enough, but I keep those cringes inward.

this is SUCH a cute picture of dylan! i love how his mouth is open in concentration; it reminds me of girls when they leave their mouth open while putting mascara on! so cute. yeah, it's good to teach them. then they won't live on ramen like me when they grow up :)

I love having helpers in the kitchen. I try not to redo stuff that they do- I want them to feel important and that they did a good job. Dylan's pie crust looks great!

I need to do better about having my kids help me with stuff. They always want to, but it's always when I'm in a hurry to get it done.

Cute picture of Dyl!! I'm the same way! I don't really like the kids to help, but will let them so they will learn. But then again, I don't do much cooking anyway. Mark is good about letting them help him out, but it is frustrating!:)

Thats a good idea to have your kids help. I am a big fan of that even though I understand the cringing. Two thumbs up!

Ah Kar - every parent has those same cringes.....like when they make the bed and there's huge bumps in it? or when they put on the bright orange shirt with red pants? I call it "letting go".....it a hard thing for us - but as our kids grow up - there are some things that we have to let go of.
I'm glad to be reminded that I'm not the only one who feels that way!

Yes, yes, hide the cringe, love the teaching time. I think nearly every mother would concur. Darling pics.
